An
alarm clock, modified by ancestral habit It was given to its original owner as a 21st birthday present and remained in use until he died 57 years later. The glass was broken during his lifetime, the minute hand went missing sometime later. His habit of winding the clock everyday has removed the silver-plating from its sides leaving only tarnished brass. Once the glass was broken the sweat from his thumb and fingers began to damage its face. He was right-handed and therefore the clock was kept to the left of his bed. |

| On
the right is a furry duck, found in the mud on path through a Norfolk copse.
It has now dried out though it remains rather stained. when squeezed it
produces an intense quacking sound, like laughter. On the left, a 19thC stereoscopic viewer rests on top of its turned wooden handle and a pair of pheasants legs. The frame for carrying images has been lost though the slide on which it was mounted remains. |
